Why theatre?

What is participatory theatre?

Participatory theatre uses role play, character development and team-building games, to give people the confidence to help them better manage the situations in which they find themselves.

Our unique model uses drama workshops to bring people together to act out, through themselves and others, their feelings, and experiences. It helps people learn how to manage real world scenarios and practise dealing with them in a safe and non-judgemental arena.  This helps build confidence and teaches them how to navigate a society in which they, sometimes, might struggle to feel a part of.

We believe performing arts can act as a universal language to help people transform how they communicate and interact with their outside world. Hear Scheherazade’s Founder and Director talk about the role the arts can play in transforming society.
